WebJul 1, 2024 · The aerosol radiative forcing (ARF), forcing efficiency (FE) and heating rate profile (AHR) are determined throughout the dust trajectory in shortwave (SW) and longwave (LW) ranges. To do this, we integrate different satellite observations (CALIPSO and MODIS) and detailed radiative transfer modeling. WebJan 31, 2024 · The radiative forcing efficiency of dust in the atmosphere is estimated to be a warming of approximately 20 Wm -2 over the ocean and 35 Wm -2 over land. This diabatic heating of dust aerosols in the Saharan Air Layer acts as an additional energy source to increase the growth of the waves.

Webon cloud radiative forcing using a radiative transfer model along with satellite data analysis. By examining the influ-ence of Asian dust aerosols on the radiative forcing both at the TOA and the surface, this study should lead to a better un-derstanding of the interactions among dust aerosols, clouds and radiation. 2 Data and methodology WebThe aerosol radiative forcing at the bottom and the top of the atmosphere over China were obtained based on the long-term observations within SONET . It is determined that the aerosol radiative forcing at the top of the atmosphere and the surface both doubled during an aerosol event with a peak AOD of 0.6 in Central Europe .

Websimulations of dust LW forcing remain a challenging task because of the high spatio-temporal variation of dust properties [Myhre et al., 20031. Using satellite observations, several studies have attempted to estimate the LW radiative forcing of dust aerosols. For example, using broadband measurements from the Earth Radiation Budget
